Marijuana stops the suffering of many.

Many people in the United States rely on medical marijuana to stop the pain that is a result of cancer treatment. Marijuana is also known to aid in the treatment of many other diseases like PTSD. Now isn't it a shame that we have hundred of soldiers coming back from war stricken countries and we have no way to treat them of this physiological disease. We can treat them, but in many areas we can't because those soldiers don't live in states that have legal medical marijuana. Many people with other diseases also face the same problem. Imagine having the to stay in side all day sitting by the toilet because you know the vomit is soon to come, or being afraid to eat because you know it will just come right out of you. Medical Marijuana is need all over the nation by millions. If the plant isn't legalized soon will these disease stricken people have to resort to illegal ways to obtain this much needed medicine. Could you imagine a cancer patient or a veteran being arrested just for trying to relieve their pain from these horrible illnesses? Please give the patients wait they need, medical marijuana needs to be legal for these people.

Why Marijuana is Really Illegal

Back in the early 1900s it wasn't very hard for a power business to persuade government to make something they don't like illegal. Thats the reason why marijuana and hemp became illegal. In the early 1900s the technoligies of turning hemp was improving and William Randolph Hearst, owner of the biggest newspaper chain in the nation, was happy about it. W. R. Hearst teamed up with DuPont, a company that would also lose profit to hemp. Harry J. Anslinger was appointed as head of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics by the Secretary of Treasury, Andrew Mellon, who also happened to be the chief finical backer of DuPont. At the same time Hearst paper attacked marijuana making ridiculous claims that it made people uncontrollably violent. Marijuana was eventually criminalized just so Hearst and DuPont would maintain better profits. There was no valid point behind the criminalization of marijuana and that is one of the main reasons it should be legal.

Why Marijuana Legalization is Bound to Happen

After the recent legalization in Washington and Colorado other states are watching closely. Washington and Colorado are estimated to get a large profit from the cash crop. Legalizing the plant can be profitable and many other states might want to cash in. Polls are also saying 56% of people are opposed to the idea. Some states are already talking about it and it's not surprising. I wouldn't be surprised if we had one or two more states that loosen their grip on marijuana laws before 2015.
